The distinct feature of a panel-end or cantilever desk is the modesty panel which, although a necessary part of the structure, can add to the appeal and offer advantages over beam or 4 legged desks.

Because of the simplicity of structure, most of these are at the lower end of the price scale, predominantly of MFC construction however some of the most exclusive and most expensive executive desks can also be made in the panel-end style.
